Brielle and Rich Schwartz, of Scottsdale, AZ and Simpsonville, KY, announce the opening of the Legacy Equestrian Center, specializing in the discipline of Saddle Seat riding. On Saturday, March 9, from noon to 3p.m., the Schwartzes will open the doors to their world-class professional horse training facility so that visitors can step inside, smell the hay, and peek in the stalls at their extraordinary collection of American Saddlebred, Arabian, and Friesian horses.
This “open barn” celebration is open to the public, and visitors are encouraged to explore the property and learn about the wonderful horses and the extraordinary benefits of horseback riding. Folks can watch up-close exhibitions of the magnificent show horses, see riding demonstrations by world-class competitors, mingle with the owners and renowned trainers who staff the equestrian center and enjoy refreshments. Horse enthusiasts of all levels of interest and experience are invited to take part in the educational, fun, and social festivities.
The Schwartzes acquired Battaglia Farm, located at 30307 N 144th Street, in January 2013, from legendary Arabian trainer Bob Batttaglia. Bob continues to base his operation on the property and will be working with the Legacy Equestrian Center in a director/instructor capacity. With Bob Battaglia and renowned instructor Kathy Abbott-Conflenti, who has trained riders from US World Cup teams, demonstrating riding and teaching, visitors will see the true beauty and versatility of the American Saddlebred and Arabian horses. While the riding may look effortless to the audience, any Saddle Seat rider will maintain that it requires serious mental and physical focus, as well as a personal bond with your horse. The demonstrations will showcase Saddle Seat riding, a unique style of horseback riding that spotlights the high-trotting action and style of certain breeds.
During the open barn, people will be able to sign up for day camps, lessons, and clinics, which will feature world-renowned instructors and trainers from all over the United States. These trainers will work to enhance the skills of riders who are already competing, as well as those who are seeking knowledge about the animal or just picking up the sport. All enrolled students are eligible for annual college scholarships!
The grand opening takes place on March 9th, from noon to 3 p.m. and is located at 30307 N 144th Street, Scottsdale, AZ 85262. For more information, please visit www.LegacyEquestrian.com.
