National Horseman is sad to report that beloved member of the show horse community Alexandra Mooney passed away on April 1, after complications from cystic fibrosis. Although Alex had suffered from this disease for most of her life and was the recipient of two double lung transplants, she never allowed it to slow her down or prevent her from living life to the fullest.
A lifelong lover of the Morgan horse, Alex was the epitome of a horsewoman, and she was able to fulfill her lifelong dream of becoming a horse trainer despite the challenges of her disease. She will be remembered as a ray of light and an inspiration to all who knew her, and she will be deeply missed.
National Horseman sends its condolences to her family, friends and all the members of Alex’s Army who knew her or followed her story online.
