The American Hackney Horse Society is aware of yesterday afternoon’s press release from the Kentucky State Fair Board. The afternoon prior, AHHS was informed, by another affiliate, of the Kentucky State Fair Board’s plan to drop the United States Equestrian Federation as its governing body for the 2024 World's Championship Horse Show. No communication has been received directly from the Kentucky State Fair Board, or from anyone on its behalf, other than the unexpected press release.

AHHS was not consulted or informed the Kentucky State Fair Board was considering this change, and we (and the other affiliate organizations) are currently working with USEF regarding our affiliate agreements. The safety and security of our members, and their Hackneys, is always paramount, and, at this point, AHHS is awaiting additional information before determining the path forward. We will keep our members updated as the situation evolves.
