The United Professional Horsemen’s Association Jesus Gonzales Gomez Caretaker Hall of Fame award is given to an individual who has shown a longstanding commitment to providing the highest level of care for show horses. During the November 14, 2024, Thursday evening performance of the UPHA American Royal National Championship, the UPHA was proud to honor Luis DeLoya as the 2024 inductee.

With decades of experience and a heart full of passion, Luis has consistently demonstrated an unparalleled commitment to his horses and the people behind them. His journey began at Cricket Hill in the early 1990s, and for the past 18 years, he has been a cornerstone at Cater Stables.

Whether it's a feisty young mare just starting out or a seasoned show horse, Luis's meticulous attention to detail and his intuitive understanding of each horse's needs are truly remarkable.
